“ Warmest wishes to everyone.
I would like to firstly welcome all of you to Festa De SanPedro 2019.
It has been a year since I was appointed as the head of the
Portuguese Settlement and I take this opportunity to thank all who have played
a role in one-way or another for the betterment of the Portuguese Settlement
and its people.
Last year was the committee’s and my first time organizing
Festa De San Pedro. We did not have the finances needed due to some unforeseen
circumstances. The motor of “Strength through faith and unity” was clearly
shown by the residents and many well wishers through their donations and other
help given, we were humbled by the kindness of everyone and we were able to
organize a successful celebration last year. Muito Grande Merseh.
To the MPKK committee members and volunteers of this year’s
Festa De San Pedro, a very big thank you for your hard work in making this year’s
San Pedro festival a Success.
Festa De San Pedro brings us, a village together with family
and friends to celebrate the Feast of St. Peter, the patron saint of fishermen.
When Jesus said to Peter, do not be afraid for I am with you, so wee too must
have faith in the Lord and be united as one big family to celebrate this year’s
Festa De San Pedro.
On behalf of the MPKK, our sincere appreciation also goes
out to the State Government, Tourism Melaka, Advertisers and our Sponsors for
supporting this year’s event. God Bless us all. ”
