beauty on screens and being with natural environment is an extreme difference.
In between the extremes, pampering self in the comfort of Melaka Art Gallery or
Balai Seni Lukis is an adoring affair for you and your family.
Allen Tan is a
Melaka born self-taught artist who expresses his emotions through his art.
The unique representation
of his perception on human emotions is reflected in his early collection of
paintings titled “Truefaces”
Allen Tan has
decided to explore the animal kingdom and highlight some of the most beautiful
creatures on earth like the hourses, eagles and elephants.
Allen Tan
believes we should love and protect the Earth and preserve these species, some
of which may go extinct soon.
Mother Nature
has gifted animals in different shades and sizes and they form such colourful
and wonderful portraits. The symbolism of these animals is also very inspiring
to Allen Tan.
Painting with
acrylic on a single roll of canvas measuring 156cm x 1000cm, this painting has
been recognized by the Malaysian Book of Records to be the “Longest Horse
Painting on Canvas” in 2012.
Besides
painting, Allen Tan has also published two illustrated books of his childhood
and career titled “A Valentine Story” Part 1 and Part 2.
Being born on
Valentine’s Day and going through a tough childhood where resources was scarce,
he defy all odds to strive for the best. Both the books were sold for
fund-raising to help the less fortunate kids.
