Netherlands is encouraging Melaka to accept the goodness of Bicycle

Ambassador Speech: H.E. Karin Mossenlechner

MacMILLAN’s Bicycle, 1839, have you seen one? Before that year, bicycles were pedal-less and was called a Walk-Along as the user pushed the bike forward by running his feet along the ground. It would be very hard on a climb, isn’t it?

Where there are no bicycles lanes, and bicycles zones, fatal accidents occur when bicycles strike motor vehicles.

Long ago before today, bicycles and jinrikishas outnumber automobiles on the streets of Saigon, the capital of South Vietnam.

The North Sea shapes the west and north of Netherlands, and while Germany shared the border on the east, Belgium shared the south with a size a little over Pahang.

The Dutch buildings in Melaka which still stand today are more imposing than other monuments left by other colonial masters, with the Stadhuys built more than three centuries ago.

Melaka in the past were charmed by the Dutch buildings and today, visitors including you will be charmed by the grand old Stadhuys.

The heritage and historical zones in Melaka is today welcoming diversified visitors every day from daylight to night lights and the numbers are growing.

No more on weekends, today these heritage and historical zones in Melaka are cramped with carbon-producing automobiles on weekdays and efforts to overcome the problems is not in sight though over the years, though several parties have offer to solve the depressive traffic conditions when the 60-years old ruling party was administering Malaysia.

Excellent Melaka, Smart, Green and Clean, the Pakatan Harapan Government has take the first step on 101 days, to encore Melaka’s original beauty again by welcoming the “Netherlands and You Vision” of a brand new smart transportation.

The question is, “Will Melaka do it or just listen and the vision fades away?”

In doubt of the goodness of Bicycle & A Better Lifestyle? If you are in doubt, watch Fiona’s, the Netherlander explanation on YouTube.

Her Excellency, Karin Mossenlechner quoted, " There is not many places in the world which has such a rich history like Melaka and has preserved the history so well "
