Tan Sri Datuk Seri Utama Haji Arshad Ayub

 Tan Sri Datuk Seri Utama Haji Arshad Ayub is born in Muar on 15 November 1928. He started his early education at Sekolah Melayu Parit Keruma, Muar before his further education in the Muar Government English School. He later attended his university study with University Of Malaya, Singapore from the year 1949 to 1951. He continued his study with the Serdang Agriculture College from 1951 to 1954, and the University College Of Wales, Aberystwyth, United Kingdom from 1954 to 1958. His career began with the RIDA or the Rural Industrial Development Authority.

Tan Sri Datuk Seri Utama Haji Arshad Ayub contributed much the national development agenda and in particular, after Independence. The development agenda was applied during the Administration of the late Tun Abdul Razak. As the first Director of the Institut Teknologi MARA or ITM, he devoted much of his time to develop the education house. His contribution to the development of education, trade and commerce, finance, agriculture, healthcare, ... is amazing. Read here.

He is currently the Chairman of the Board of Directors for the University of Malaya, the Pro-Chancellor of University Technology MARA and the Chancellor of INTI International University.

Yesterday, he is one of the five eminent recipients of the 2013 Merdeka Award presented by the Regent of Perak, His Royal Highness, Raja Dr. Nazrin Shah and the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dato' Sri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak.
