A Dinner for the old and the young ~ Malacca High School/Sekolah Tinggi Melaka 2013
Mr. Quek See Tiat is the school captain for the year 1973 with the Malacca High School, now renamed as Sekolah Tinggi Melaka. In that year, later, Abdul Rahim Abdul Aziz succeeded as captain. I first met Quek and Abdul Rahim Abdul Aziz in 1973 in the school. 38 years later, I've another opportunity to meet Abdul Rahim Abdul Aziz during the HSOBA Annual Dinner in 2011 at the Kelab Golf Negara or the Subang National Golf Club. On the third time, I met Abdul Rahim, we dine at Abdul Mutalib's son wedding at the Dewan Angkasa Raya, Tentera Udara DiRaja Malaysia in Sg. Besi, Kuala Lumpur this year. Quek and Rahim, they are former captains of the school.
As this year HSOBA Anuual Dinner is approaching nearer and nearer, talks about who is who is getting on among the old boys and where are they. That's how I recall the former captains of the school. We are glad to know that Mr. Quek has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Monetary Authority of Singapore and as non-executive director of the Singapore Press Holdings.
HSOBA stand for High School Old Boys Assocation. This year Annual Dinner will be held at the Equatorial Hotel on Banda Hilir Road, Melaka.
