Muhyiddin urges BN machinery to work harder
Choosing a representative for your constituent in political scenario is called 'Election' and in the Old Testament, the term elect is applied to the people of Israelites, as the chosen people of God. A bare majority of votes is enough to secure election although this may be either a majority of the votes cast or a majority of those entitled to vote. A candidate is one seeking election to any office or appointment. Thus, politics (Gr. politike) though often called the art, science, and philosophy of government, is frequently but simply the quest for nation administration. A major coalition in Malaysia is the National Front, more commonly say as BN, or the Barisan Nasional. Form in 1973 as the successor to the Alliance, the BN components are the United Malays National Organization, the Malaysian Chinese Association and the Malaysian Indian Congress. The founder of UMNO is Onn Jaafar. The founder of MCA is Tan Cheng Lock. The founder of MIC is John A. Thivy. Professor Syed Hussein Alatas took office as the Gerakan leader from 1968 to 1969 and was succeeded by Tun Dr. Lim Chong Eu, Tun Dr. Lim Keng Yaik and the incumbent Tan Sri Dr. Koh Tsu Koon. On the opposition scene, the Democratic Action Party DAP official organ, the Rocket, made its inaugural appearance about a year after it was formed in 1965. And the PAS or Pan-Islamic Malaysian Party emerged as early 1947. The other opposing party is the People's Justice Party and its formation date is 4 April 1999.
