Clogs in Jonker Walk

The wooden-soled boot, with uppers of PVC. The uppers of the clogs are cut from stout kip or "split" PVC and fastened round the outer edge of the wooden sole by a band of PVC or webbing through which tacks are driven.

Housewives used to wear clogs to wet market to do their shopping of vegetables, meat, fishes and groceries. They also preferred to wear clogs when cleaning the floors. Clogs is a fashion wear of the past and it is a wonder if it would become fashionable again.
