First Malaysia Plan 1966 - Tun Abdul Razak Part 7

Tun Abdul Razak is one of a few leaders in the Rombongan Merdeka to make Malaysia an independence nation. Negaraku Berdaulat, Tanah Tumpahnya Darahku. Selamat Menyambut Hari Merdeka.

Five years after Merdeka, a development plan is needed after the establishment of Malaysia in 1963. Such plan shall be good for all STATES in Malaysia. The plan named as the 1st Malaysia Plan 1966 - 1970 was introduced and presented on 15 December 1965 in the Dewan Rakyat by Tun Abdul Razak, who is the father to the Prime Minister, Najib Razak.

The plan is a bold plan as it involved huge expenditures and wide scope of responsibilities to upgrade the education level, the health care services, the communications services, the defence facilities and the national security for the well-being of the people. In this respect, like father like son, 1Malaysia's Government Transformation Plan and Economic Transformation Plan has by far provided many benefits to the people. The UTC or the Urban  Transformation Center is a good example. My daughter, Sandra reached the Melaka's UTC on Hang Tuah Road at 6.50 pm to renew her passport and by 8.15 pm, she has got her new book. She enjoy such service many folds what it had been before Najib Administration.

Going back to the first Malaysia Plan, Tun Abdul Razak made sure that the 4 gigantic tasks are accomplished. The first one task is to push up the economy and to promote social networking among the people within the State itself and inter-States. Task No. 2 indicated Tun's humble and kind feelings to ensure employment opportunities increases and to minimise unemployment.

The next task Tun wanted, is to make education available to every kids and the fourth task is to diversify the economic activities particularly the agriculture and induatrial sectors while shifting dependency on rubber and tin. This showed Tun is able to forsee the future for young Malaysians to keep up with globalisation.

The first Malaysian Plan defined a RM$10,500 millions investment spending where RM$4,550 millions enabled the public sector to play its role while the remaining RM$5,950 millions was reserved for the private sector.
