Tun Abdul Razak is one of a few leaders in the Rombongan Merdeka to make Malaysia an independence nation. Negaraku Berdaulat, Tanah Tumpahnya Darahku. Selamat Menyambut Hari Merdeka.

Tun had aimed on rural development since 1950 and he designed the Red Book where his team members would record improvements and failures on projests taken by each districts. In short, all developments that the people enjoy arised from Tun's efforts.

The RUKUNEGARA is derived from MAGERAN or the Majlis Gerakan Negara or National Action Council where Tun used to restore peace and order after the May 13 incident. Thus, Tun had achieved to procure harmony and unity. At the same time, he launched the New Economy Policy in the 2nd Malaysia Plan to fight poverty.

Tun is instrumental in forming the National Front or BN and teamed with component parties including the oppositions to eliminate confrontation so that the country prosper in due course.

Looking beyond the nation, Tun believed the stabilty of the region is important to the safety of the nation and the idea of neighbourhood countries is conceived. From his idea, ASEAN is born. Asians highly respected Tun as he emphasized that ASEAN nations are free, peaceful and linked.

Thinking outside beyond ASEAN, Tun made a visit to China on 21 May 1974 to commit diplomatic ties. Reckoned not only within the region, but also world wide, Tun is an amazing innovator.

When we celebrate Merdeka we also celebrate Tun's enormous efforts in strengthening the soveriegn of his country.
