Wangkang2020 Boat - THE MAKING

Kok Him has no experience in making the Wangkang boat in 2012 but he was selected by the Ong Yah for the task. Kok Him has begun to construct the Wangkang2020 boat on Saturday 7 December 2019. Watch

With a scraper, Kok Him has to do all the scraping work and the first one he is giving attention on Wednesday 11, 2019 is The Keel. The Keel provides strength, stability and prevents sideways drift of the boat in the water. He observed the wind direction to keep his workplace clean. Watch

This afternoon, Kok Him joined the High-Chin Spoon Bow and the Stem as an extension to The Keel by applying two dovetail joints. A wooden dovetail joint requires no mechanical fasterners. Watch
