Street Decorations on Jalan Bendahara, Melaka

Decorations for Deepavali at the end part of Jalan Bendahara usually clustering among Hindu shops has already began many years ago during the Barisan Nasional controlled-government.

Hindus arts and symbols including streets bunting appeared and reappear during months of October-November, when the Festival Of Lights approaches.

Since the Pakatan Harapan controlled-government replaced the 60 years old experienced controlling party Barisan Nasional, the streets decorations to cheer up Deepavali has improved.

2018, the street decorations has covered half the length of Jalan Bendahara.

2019, the street decorations has covered the whole length of Jalan Bendahara.

A son of Nadesan Chettiar has asked me to go to Jalan Bendahara between 7 pm to 8 pm to see the decorations.

This son who has taught me simple Tamil words, added that the illuminated decors are given by Singapore.

Beautiful, I put in the efforts to spend one hour to produce a video for all Hindus to watch.

While filming this video, number of parents stopped their cars, and unwind their cars window to let their children enjoy the street decorations.

My job is to transport readers to fabulous and fascinating Melaka and take them back to medieval times, from bustling sites over to deserted sites or even into the secrets of Melaka.

With a task like that, tired and overused words like “pretty” and “fun” just won’t cut it. Here, readers can find the right words to conjure up a three-dimensional scene of places in Melaka and start travelling.
