Announced on Wednesday 16 May 2018, the zero-rated GST is effective Friday 1 June 2018 and the announcement is just only 7 days after the GE 14
GST is one of the ten promises in 100 days.

The 5 Pillars are -
- Reducing the people's burden
- Reforming our institutions and politics
- Spurring sustainable and equitable economic growth
- Returning Sabah and Sarawak to the status accorded in the Malaysia Agreement 1963
- Creating a Malaysia that is inclusive, moderate and respected globally
The 10 Promises in 100 days are -
- Abolish GST and take steps to reduce cost of living
- Stabilise the price of petrol and introduce targeted petrol subsidies
- Abolise unnecessary debts that have been imposed on FELDA settlers
- Introduce EPF contribution for housewives
- Equalise the minimum wage naturally and start the process to increase the minimum wage
- Postpone the repayment of PTPTN to all graduates whose salaries are below RM4,000 per month and abolish the blacklisting policy
- Set up a Royal Commissions of Inquiry (RCI) on 1MDB, FELDA, MARA and Tabung Haji, and to reform the governance of these bodies
- Repecting Sabah and Sarawak by setting up a Special Cabinet Committee to immediately enforce the Malaysia Agreement 1963
- Introduce Skim Peduli Sihat with RM500 per family per annum for the B40 group for basic treatments in registered private clinices
- Initiate a comprehensive review of all megaprojects that have been awarded to foreign countries

- FELDA - to stop the rot, return the pride, and modernise FELDA
- Indian Community - Guarantee equal rights, justice and harmony for the Indian community
- Women - Guarantee the welfare, wellbeing and rights of women
- Youths - Maximising potential and creating opportunities for young people
- Senior Citizens - recognize senior citizens for their contributions to the country
