SMK Bukit Baru is located on Jalan Istana, Bukit Baru, built by Mohd Ghauz Enterprise and completed on 10th May, 1993.

The first principal is Tuan Haji Othman Bin Hassan, followed by Puan Hjh Hazizah bt Md Salled, Puan Hjh Umaizahrah but Alwi, Puan Mainon bt Abdul Wahid and now, Tuan Haji Mohammad Yusoff bin Osman.
