How can China or India influence Asia

+World War II has seen many changes. +China and India is developing well after that war and long before the new millennium, these two enormous lands when combined together has a third of the world’s population then. Twenty-three times the present population of today Malaysia of 30,000,000 the then Communist China’s Government has had to raise the disorderly land to reach a high ranking in military and economic power.

Other than owning a powerful air force and a huge army, by the 1960s, China was manufacturing vehicles and heavy machinery. In history, the Chinese love trades, and long before the war, imperial trade voyages reached many places. The China’s great armada led by Admiral Zheng He touched many grounds and as far as Africa. +Melaka  was an important place to discover and was included in the voyages where Zheng He enriched the Sumatran-discovered city now classified an heritage. Today, the Chinese is resuming their interests in Melaka and has begin to invest in Lipat Kijang, Jasin, Melaka on the manufacturing sector while on the financial sector, perhaps, the China Development Bank may also like to establish a branch in Melaka.

There was a period China was not popular, the United Nations barred China and Chinese Government is not recognized by most non-communist governments including the Malaya administrators. India too influenced Asia and Melaka but we will not discussed about India here while we touch on China and while referring India in another blog post. Though China was not popular, China was asked to trade, and because of trade, The Bandung Conference in 1955 united 29 countries including Communist China.

It is historic that the Ming Emperor’s daughter married Sultan Mansur Shah and lived in Bukit China. China being the 2nd largest country in Asia has look upon Melaka and +Orang Melaka  is lucky to get China’s attention. Today, and every day, buses loads of Chinese tourists walked into the Sam Poh Kong Temple or in Chinese Language, 三宝庙 to check this historical fact. Go there yourself, and see for your own eyes.

The ancient adventurers, conquerors and travelers would sail into every river mouth to discover new trades, and the mouth of Melaka River or Sungai Melaka is no exception. It is only appreciative that we must remember the revival of Sungai Melaka is done by Senator Tan Sri Haji Mohd Ali Mohd Rustam. I have personally seen with my own eyes that Ali Rustam has even participated in the Dragon Boat Race during the Mid-Autumn Festival. Admiral Zheng He sailed into the mouth of Melaka River and his encounter with Melaka is now displayed in the Zheng He Museum near to the Hard Rock Café.

Now with the capable YAB Datuk Seri Ir. Hj Idris Haron, his administration is doing refinement to all revival of heritage sites done by Ali Rustam, and Idris is doing well with his “Berkat, Cepat and Tepat” vision.

I must say that Idris is able to power Melaka to greater heights and you can see; Melaka is getting greener, Melaka streets are lined with colorful flowering plants, the Don’t Mess With Melaka is poised to deter smokers, and littering is wrong, the increased of better public washrooms, … more to come. These are all preparations to welcome future tourists from China as the world’s second largest economy and many more from non-Chinese countries.

The Melaka GateWay, the Imperio, the Harbour City …. are only a few of the grand developments that are coming up to provide hospitality to future travelers to Melaka.

Watch YAB Datuk Seri Ir. Haji Idris Haron informing +Orang Melaka about a modern and sprawling city in China's southern Guangdong Province where the administrators there would build a museum about +Melaka
