Fearful firewalking in Melaka

The sun is hot, and the fire is burning in the center of a rectangular area the size of a futsal, with metal-gate guarded by +RELA Negeri Melaka . 

Softly, I take a few steps inner to see the burning ground but the intense heat stop me from going nearer.

I have read about timithi or teemithi in one of the museum managed by +Perbadanan Muzium Melaka , but I have not seen one in the past.

According to an indian friend, the yearly traditional celebration of the timithi is to honour Draupadi. He said in Malay Language when we met in Melaka last week, "Pada satu hari dahulu, Duryodhana menyuruh adiknya, Dushasana menelanjangi Draupadi. Setelah diselamatkan oleh Krishna, Draupadi menyikat rambutnya dengan tulang paha Dushasana yang berdarah. Draupadi pun menyumpah untuk berjalan atas api selepas peristiwa itu"
