CHINA is knocking on your door…Melaka

lu wu di eh cho bang bo [Note 1]” Ah Long tell Ah Kuei, while Ah Nan thrust three coffee cups with his fingers from his left hand. The hokkien-speaking, Muthu punctuated the hot issue of the Chinese brothers with the rushing of South-Indian slang, “arwen elek, arwen elek [Note 2]” swaying his head left and right.
Climax of the marble-forum was peaking when the Chinese cum English speaking Muhammad seek patience from them with a soft and humble tone “sabar, sabar…sabar-lah dulu [Note 3]..kita +Orang Melaka , karang tak macam dulu; like frog under the coconut shelf [Note 4]; kita zhin por liao [Note 5]”

Engrossed with the morning topic of the day in my dream-corner on Jonker Walk, their debate is mind-feeding. They are talking about the Great Wall Of China. Ah Long, Muthu and Muhammad get-together on the aging marble table of an halal kopitiam is a good example of #AnakAnakMalaysia reflecting the harmony colors of #sehatisejiwa in Melaka.

The Great Wall was built by the Chinese not to bully others but to save themselves from barbaric attackers if you read history books. The kind acts of the Chinese Emperor to build a wall to protect the peasants but with hard labor has now proven to be the only structure viewable from the moon.

The Chinese had sealed international trades almost 800 years ago in Melaka through their Treasure Voyages and was revived with Tun Abdul Razak’s visit to China. A filial child, Najib Razak treasure his father’s effort on the both countries’ diplomatic relationship and continue to develop China-Malaysia relationship to greater heights. No other than these two Prime Ministers have taken a serious look on China, the world’s second largest economic giant. On filial peity, reverence for parents and ancestors is the first duty of all Chinese and main part of Chinese life is based on a family,..a community, a society and one nation.

For thousands of years the Chinese had been living in a world of their own but somehow they had shown interest in several countries where they could do trades and one interesting place chosen is Melaka.  Admiral Zheng He story in Melaka supported this.

China is looking to a larger airport in Melaka with a size probably the size of Kuala Lumpur International Airport and it has a foresight of some 30 international flight landing each day. Is this like dreaming ? Melaka is poised to regain glory she has lost. They are talking about China interest for Melaka.

Note 1 A dialect, the Chinese Hokkien saying that mean “are you dreaming”
Note 2 A Tamil meaning of saying “No, it is not”
Note 3 A Melayu meaning of asking for “patience”

Note 4 A Chinese Hokkien meaning of “we improve already”
