Melaka began to look into tourism when Tan Sri Rahim Thamby Chik was the Chief Minister. His effort was continued by Tan Sri Ali Rustam. Ali Rustam did a good job for Melaka and you can't deny that if you visit Melaka today. Get a first hand look yourself to see Melaka today. The heritage city is lucky to own a current leader who not only dedicated to promote Melaka with her glorious past but at the same time, a city greener in Malaysia.

Recently, the United Kingdom through her commissioner in Kuala Lumpur has conveyed the interest to engineered a greater Melaka while Singapore is also keen to help to turn the heritage city greener.

Melaka hope to serve some 16 millions travelers and visitors this year. In this respect, the Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Ir. Idris Haron encouraged civil servants to upgrade their proficiency in English Language. Datuk Seri sincerely like civil servants to well-served visitors in a speech he delivered during an assembly organised by the Universiti Teknikal Malaysia or in short, UTeM. Civil servants would attend languages course by April 2015.

Saya sempat mengulas perkara utama dalam pencapaian #MelakaMajuFasaKedua supaya berada satu tingkat lebih baik iaitu: 

1. Meletakkan produk & perkhidmatan negeri Melaka berkualiti tinggi menepati kehendak dan keperluan pelanggan.

2. Sistem : struktur & mekanisme kerja di Melaka mesti berupaya memenuhi harapan & kehendak rakyat.

3. Persekitaran negeri mestilah berada pd tahap yg sgt baik : cukup selesa utk didiami : dgn persembahan kualiti persekitaran yg ketara dan tdk ketara termasuk hiasan2 dan perwatakan orgnya berupaya menggamit pelancong ke negeri Melaka dan menjadikan Melaka second home @ negeri yg bagus utk didiami

4. Rakyat & penduduk Melaka mempyai kualiti pemikiran & tindakan di tahap negara maju spt mempunyai keupayaan utk mengekalkan identiti

Semua empat ciri ini mesti kita capai dalam satu langkah yang dipanggil Melaka Maju Fasa Kedua sbgi melengkapi kemajuan fizikal yg telah dibangunkan oleh pemimpin sblm ini.
