When my wife bought the 1st home computer set in
2004 I was very happy that I could begin to learn more of IT.
Of all the programs, I selected power-point presentation as
my first avenue to learn how to put my ideas on writing.
At that time, the project is saved in a piece of 2HD
diskette and the title of the project was ‘Managing Waste Is A Big Business’
The volume of wastes gets larger as the year passes.
According to the National Solid Waste Management Department,
the household waste composition is as follows;
Food Waste 45%
Plastic Waste 13.2%
Diapers 12.1%
Paper 8.5%
Garden 5.8%
Glass 3.3%
Metal 2.7%
Others 22.6%
Climate Change is taking priority attention worldwide and
these two words are now a common words for everyone. Perhaps they are common
they are ignored by many but not by activists and the world leaders. As to this
point, the Melaka Chief Minister YAB Datuk Seri Ir. Idris Haron bravely take
the first step to make sure that Melaka become a green state by 2020.
I first heard of climate change when my parent and their
friend had said about it. They said, ‘Pien
Liao’ Durians is a favorite fruits to them. Those days durians were
available only once a year and the riping happened in April. But then, after a
period of a few years, the riping season shifted and the delays increases as
the years come. And then, not long after, there are two riping seasons during a
year. So, the delicious durians are providing signal of climate change.
The Meteorological Department said, “Agriculture is
extremely vulnerable to climate change, as higher temperatures eventually
reduce yields of desirable crops while encouraging weed and pest proliferation.
The change can also affect the change in air quality, drinking water standard,
and health hazards.”
The job of everyone is to reduce.
After one is successful on the reduce, he can next move on
to reuse.
