The Hindu people from the Kalinga district in India came to Melaka to trade their goods with the traders from the east and the west.

It was known that they like gold so much so that the community had together owned as much as 3,000 kg. 

The Masjid Kampung Kling was built in 1748 and the fine arts of the Hindu, the Chinese and the European was incorporated into the construction of this heritage mosque.
