三忠宫 or Sam Tiong Keng in Melaka is celebrating the annual birthday of the deity during this weekend.

Last evening, the Transport Minister Liow Tiong Lai officiated at the opening ceremony of the temple's traditional festive event.

Earlier this year, in February, the temple chairman, Datuk Yang Chien Chu said that Malaysia is blessed with ethnic groups that have lived in peace and harmony over the years.

Starting at 4.30 p.m. on Saturday 4 October 2014, the procession is scheduled to journey through:

  • Laksamana Cheng Ho Road
  • Munshi Abdullah Road
  • Hang Li Poh Road
  • Durian Daun Road
  • Pengkalan Rama Road
  • Bendahara Road
  • Cathay Bridge
  • Hang Tuah Road
  • Tan Cheng Lock Road
  • Ong Kim Wee Road
  • Pay Fong Middle School
  • Tengkera Road
  • Kubu Road
  • Bachang
  • Kampung Pantai Road
  • Laksamana Road
  • Merdeka Road
  • Parameswara Road
  • St. John Road
and back to the temple.

This time participants as far as Singapore and Taiwan are joining the events over the weekend.


Datuk Wira Soon Tian Szu just gave a speech at 2 p.m. moment ago before the ceremonial customs and rites begin in the temple prior to the traditional procession.
