Listed as one of Taiwan's first-rate national monuments, Tainan's Heavenly Queen Temple is said to be the temple where worshipers have been paying their respects to the Lunar Matchmaker the longest.

Apart from the faithful men and women pleading for love to enter their lives, it is even more renowned for having helped those who had previously found their "Mr. or Miss Right" boost the level of satisfaction and happiness in their marriages.

In the past, the temple would prepare "yuan fen" (a white face powder used in face-threading - an ancient beauty technique for removing facial hair) the day before the wedding. "Yuan fen" sounds similar to "fate" in Chinese.

By performing, the technique of yuan fen on brides the day before their wedding, a couple's love was promised a chance to not only boom, but also produce fruit.

Today, single women can still rub some of the powder behind their ears for good luck. And although the temple no longer provides face powder to worshipers, it is available at bridal shops.

Just bring some with you to the temple and throw divination blocks before Lunar Matchmaker to get the same kind of ancient blessing.
