This is Cuba.
Cuba is a
long, narrow island. The island has 191 km in its widest and only 31 km in its
narrowest portion. Biodiversity is high and its various ecosystems are well
preserved. It has a moderate subtropical climate with a predominance of warm
temperatures. The official language is Spanish. Cuba has one of the most
heterogeneous populations in the world, with a perfect symbiosis among whites,
blacks, mulatoes and Chinese.
Travel Cuba
to discover a country where rum and cigars tempt visitors, together with other
hedonistic pleasures such as sunshine, music and sensuality. On your Cuba
holidays you will walk in streets that are lined with decaying colonial
mansions and art deco towers and Cuba hotels in city centers from Havana to
Santiago de Cuba. Classic Cadillac’s alongside horse drawn carriages and
rickshaws while out in the countryside, from the tobacco fields to the Sierra
Maestra, the highways are lined with billboards extolling the virtues of the
Revolution.
Perfect
weather. Pristine waters. Spectacular scenery. Soaring archictecture. Exotic
wildlife. Exuberant nightlife. And a distinctive procession of vintage
automobiles. This is not just another island getaway. This is Cuba.
The real
Cuba is vibrant mix of history and music, poetry and passion, adventure and
astonishingly rich culture. Christopher Columbus called it “the most beautiful
land human eyes have ever seen.” But don’t take his word for it. Discover it
yourself.

The long low
coast line is bordered north and south by chains of coral islets, and indented
with many superb bays and harbors. The inlands, hills and plains are planted
with hectares of sugar cane and green tobacco. You can see rivers disappear
into the ground and flow through hidden channels to reappear at far spots.
Orchids
lovers can get excited on the east of Cuba, where the narrow island widens out
to the splendid of mahogany, rosewood and cedar trees.
Go Cuba.
We have
celebrated our 57th Independence last Sunday and today some Cubans
are presenting their food and music to us at Casa del Rio, Melaka. For 116 years, Cubans win its freedom in 1898
after the Spanish-American War. Unfortunately, while Malaysia gained
independence in 1957, the Batista’s regime were increasingly violent then. The
last century was historic for Cuba as the island is the world’s chief producer
of cane sugar.
Tobacco is
the 2nd most important agricultural crop after sugar cane but bear
in mind that Cuban tobacco is the best in the world. The finest comes from
Pinar del Rio. Pure Havana is the highest grade of tobacco in the world. Among
those who are in Casa del Rio tonight could have the privilege of puffing
Havana tobacco. The Food & Music Fair was graced by the Melaka Chief
Minister YAB Ir. Idris Haron early today.
Exactly
what I see while enjoying the Cuban song, I could see faces of every color from
white through tan and brown to chocolate and black. However, irrespective of
the colors, visitors to Havana, always remember the Maximo Gomez Plaza.
Go Cuba.
