My friend Tan shared this image yesterday. And another friend Coffas, shared the below advices.

Coffas said, ' the Hungry Ghost Festival or Yu Lan, is a traditional Chinese festival and holiday celebrated by Chinese in many countries. The Ghost Day is today, the 15th night of the 7th lunar month.

The Chinese believed that ghost and spirits, including those of the deceased ancestors, come out from the lower realm and are visiting the living, loved ones, friend, or enemies.

Traditional checklist during this festival is appended;

• Do not hang out late.
• Do not spit in the street or tree.
• Do not stare at the candle light or burning fire.
• Do not step on or kick offering items, joss sticks.
• Do not cover up your forehead at night; always pin or put your hair as high as possible.
• Do not stare at them if you really saw one; look or walk away calmly.
• Do not make funny jokes or comments on any displays on altar or offering items on the streets.
• Do not look underneath the altar table when there is a prayer session.
• Do not shift your eyeballs from left to right or right to left.
• Do not sniff and follow any pleasant or sweet smell ahead of you.
• Do not sit on the front rows of an public Chinese operas.
• Do not open your umbrella at night.
• Do not wear red color costume with high heels and walk alone at night.
• Pick any items found on the streets.
• Do not stand under a tree at night.
• Do not hang your clothes outside at night.
• Do not respond to someone who call you from behind.
• Do not turn your head when someone pat your shoulder.
• Do not use any black color manicure.
• Do not comb your hair in the mirror at night.
• Do not swim at night for someone may be pulling from underneath.
• ........

On the 15th Ghost Day, offering has to be done for the ancestors before noon. Watch the video. And the tea must be poured circling the paper money in gold and silver so that only ancestors and not others got them.
