Melaka | Biodiesel Programme
Melaka's Bio-diesel Program is a green community project initiated by the Melaka State Government to manage the waste of cooking oil and to encourage the use of bio-diesel in the transport sector.
The program was launched by the Chief Minister,Datuk Seri Haji Mohd Ali bin Mohd Rustam on 22 November 2011.

The program objectives are;
- To reduce the "Carbon Footprint" in the transport sector in Melaka through the use of bio-diesel in vehicles, generators and machinery.
- To inform the community of the danger of using re-cycled cooking oil.
- To inform the community of preserving the halal standard by not using recycled oil from unknown sources.
- To create awareness of environmental care by not pouring waste cooking oil into drains.
Reasons why you should get involved in this program:
- Using recycled cooking oil could harm the health.
- Using recycled cooking oil could change the halal standard.
- The authority could reduce the cost of clearing clogged drains.
- Not recycling the cooking oil could harm the environment.
- Bio-diesel is an alternative to fossil fuels and the reuse in vehicles, generators and machines is able to preserve the mother earth natural resources.
- In collaboration with the vision of attaining the status of Green Technology City by 2020, the use of bio-diesel could reduce the "carbon footprint".
Use of Bio-diesel:
The use has been recognized as an alternative to fossil fuels.
The use had been simple without any modification or alteration.
The use is demanded by the transportation industry.
B10 bio-diesel has been certified safe by many cars manufacturers and the warranty is not threatened.
