More Chinese cops
It was a matter of the past, when people looks at cops jobs are low-paying jobs.
A pass in SPM Bahasa Malaysia with an SPM qualification, a constable could take home about RM$1,700 and when added allowances plus perks, his salary could reach RM$3,500.
More Chinese cops on the roads would overcome the language barrier for the police to work with Chinese community. Campaign roadshows throughout Malaysia will be launched tomorrow, to increase the numbers from 1,974 to above 5,000 Chinese cops.
The Deputy IGP, Datuk Seri Mohd Bakri Zinin said, " We need people of all races and ethnic groups to join the force as they play a vitalmrole in helping the police to serve the people."
The police force offer good career paths as most of the current number of Chinese policemen are mid-to-high ranking officers. Application form can be downloaded from www.rmp.gov.my
