Gujerat Traders

Gujerat
traders also contributed to the trade in Melaka. Each March at least four
Gujerati trade ships would arrive in Melaka. Their main commodities were
textile, cotton, opium, and camphor. Besides that, they would also bring with
them goods from Europe such as metals, glass, weapons, beads, nails and
textile.

According
to Tom Pires, the goods acquired in Melaka would then be traded in Cambay,
Gujerat and from there, would be sent to Europe. Even Venice depended on
supplies from Melaka.
