Author: James Fenimore Cooper Synopsis: This historical novel was first published in 1826, the same year High School was established. The story took place in 1757 during the French and Indian war, when France and Great Britain battled for control of the North America colonies. Later made into a historical epic in 1992 starring Daniel Day-Lewis, The Last of the Mohicans is considered a classis with a beautiful soundtrack to boot.
