Tun Abdul Razak Broadcasting Institute - IPTAR


IPTAR stand for Institut Penyiaran Tun Abdul Razak in which it was earlier recognised as the National Broadcasting Training Centre or the PLPN. PLPN stand for Pusat Latihan Penyiaran National. PLPN was established in September 1971 at the Tunku Abdul Rahman Hall on Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur. This training centre was later shifted to the Angkasapuri Complex in 1974.

A national institute, IPTAR provides professional courses on broadcasting. IPTAR carried out seven professional broadcasting programme to enhance the Radio Television Malaysia and the courses are ;

-TV Programme
-Radio Programme
-TV Engineering
-Radio Engineering
-Basic Transmitting Engineering
-Latihan Pengurusan Tegas
-ICT

Other than providing courses to RTM personnel, IPTAR is open to other participants.

In the span of 42 years, IPTAR has done three thousands courses and has trained 30,000 people. 58 countries has been listed as the Program Kerjasama Teknikal Malaysia.
