Purple DNA

Purple DNA believe in 'inclusive development' where everybody regardless of their age, gender, physical and mental ability, geographical location and background should be given equal opportunities to participate in social and economic development.

Therefore, the Purple DNA started two main visions in mind - first, is to capitalize on the untapped skills and talents of the marginalized group and people with special needs. Second, is to provide sustainable economic empowerment opportunities for them.

The initiation of the Purple DNA project came from their founder who is very passionate about socio-economic empowerment and has vast experience in working with single mothers from low-income households. The idea came into realization later in May 2012 following the establishment of the Purple DNA team, a dedicated group of people to manage the overall project.

The Purple DNA team then came out with a special business model for the socio-economic empowerment of the group with special needs. The model is based on the principle of social-enterprise where the fundamental of the set-up is to address specific challenges faced by the target group while maximizing the socio-economic outcome. The Purple DNA team facilitates in every steps of the process - from product development, training, providing the equipment and raw material needed, packaging, branding, to securing the market for products made by the target group.

Hence, they came out with the tagline,

Empowering lives, Engaging hearts
