Ready, smile, click
The man
uncovered his head from the thick black curtain of his bulky camera supported
by a tripod which stood on the badminton court. He took a good look at everyone
of us and said, “Thank you” A teacher stand up followed by two boys on her
right and two girls on her left and they too smile and said, “Thank you” Behind
them, was a row of her students standing for the class photography session at
the end of the final school term before the end year long holiday. Second row,
standing on the walk-way connecting two porches are also her students. The
back-row guys stood on two benches and behind them is the biology laboratory. In
seconds, all of them abandoned the location for other classes to take their turn
and soon headed to their individual targeted places. What they left behind ?
The answer is

Their
heartily smiles projected from around their mouth and around their eyes are not
discriminated by culture, race or religion. They cannot remember as infant they
smile but their parents do. They received smiles in school and close friends
and family members reserved smiles for them. During lessons, games, they gave
their best smiles. Today, they even give smiles to each other through the
Facebook and 3G phones regularly, they receive as J and send as a : followed by a )
Their smiles
went public, 32 years later during their 1st Gathering of the century
at the Mahkota Café in 2009 where some 50 people turned up. The memoirs of their reunion sparked by
William led to more people acknowledging that smiling is contagious. They eagerly arranged for a 2nd
Meet . With love and patience and they make a legacy in their 2nd
Meet at the Avillion on the auspicious 1.1.11 dedicated with an original
priceless poem “An Old Friend” written by their buddy, Chris. The result. Grace
of the their teachers, more than 80 people turned up and now they are still
counting …
