Their smiles …

Ready, smile, click

The man uncovered his head from the thick black curtain of his bulky camera supported by a tripod which stood on the badminton court. He took a good look at everyone of us and said, “Thank you” A teacher stand up followed by two boys on her right and two girls on her left and they too smile and said, “Thank you” Behind them, was a row of her students standing for the class photography session at the end of the final school term before the end year long holiday. Second row, standing on the walk-way connecting two porches are also her students. The back-row guys stood on two benches and behind them is the biology laboratory. In seconds, all of them abandoned the location for other classes to take their turn and soon headed to their individual targeted places. What they left behind ?

The answer is Smile.
We smile for what our class teaches
We smile despite all differences
We smile from 1973 to 1977
We smile the same smiles

We keep our smiles in film, the 70s
We keep our smiles in video, on 50th
We keep our smiles in facebook, now
We keep our smiles in our hearts, everlasting

Their heartily smiles projected from around their mouth and around their eyes are not discriminated by culture, race or religion. They cannot remember as infant they smile but their parents do. They received smiles in school and close friends and family members reserved smiles for them. During lessons, games, they gave their best smiles. Today, they even give smiles to each other through the Facebook and 3G phones regularly, they receive as J and send as a : followed by a )

No one taught the subject Smile in class and meanwhile have you hear of someone teaching Smile in the university. If you would to teach the subject Smile in class of 30 students who signed up, one would remain while 29 would drop out. Such classes might lead you to explore how to help others smile spontaneously as they have before they journey through lives. They read articles, check out ideas, share experiences, and excetera, excetera to lead an enlightened smile toward a more fulfilling lives. Fortunately, they have not forgotten to smile from 1973 to 1977. They know better the better smiles.

Their smiles went public, 32 years later during their 1st Gathering of the century at the Mahkota Café in 2009 where some 50 people turned up.  The memoirs of their reunion sparked by William led to more people acknowledging that smiling is contagious. They eagerly arranged for a 2nd Meet . With love and patience and they make a legacy in their 2nd Meet at the Avillion on the auspicious 1.1.11 dedicated with an original priceless poem “An Old Friend” written by their buddy, Chris. The result. Grace of the their teachers, more than 80 people turned up and now they are still counting …
