Voyager 1 Heads for the Stars -- and Beyond | Sci-Tech Today

Beyond the confines of the sun's relatively small family, the solar system, lie the possibly endless stretches of the outer space, the Stars and Beyond. The Andromeda Nebula is 700,000 light-years away. While man has made contact with the moon, near and far-away stars, galaxies, and nebulae are scattered in the universe. The sun, a star is nearest to us and the second nearest star is Alpha Centauri and they differ greatly in brilliance and color. While our sun is 109 times the diameter of the earth, there are small and giant stars.

The Milky Way is the light of billions of stars.
