Could a photograph be made in a few minutes ?

A Frenchman, Daguerre, and an Englishman, Talbot, said that a photograph could be made in a few minutes in 1839. Surely, many kids have played a toy motion-watcher like I did. The figures in the pictures get into motion, when I twirled the cylinder. The inventor, Thomas A. Edison called it a kinetoscope.
