Toggle Clamps

Toggle clamps hand grips are covered with oil and stain resistant vinyl to make sure the user is safe during handling. A good toggle clamp is rated by its holding capacity which is the maximum force the clamp will support when locked in the closed position without contributing a permanent deformation. Although the force diminishes towards the end of the bar, it is measured at the closest point to the base. The applied force to the work piece is the clamping force. The rating vary with location of force on the handle, the applied force, and the location of the spindle on the hold-down bar.

While maintaining a positive locking position, and to yield excellent clamping pressure, calculation is made to determine the over travel of the centre pivot point. This is to make allowance for forces due to load conditions and vibration in industrial use.
