A violent storm rage and the heaving seas dash the ship Antelope ...

...to pieces onto the shores. Out of the wreck, only one man escapes.

Lemuel Gulliver lived a quiet life in his father's small estate in Nottinghamshire. A ship's surgeon, Gulliver and his team sailed for the South Seas. On May 4, 313 years ago, a perfect storm drowned everyone and waved Gulliver to the soft grasses of the shore where he lay unconscious. When he was awoke, he realised that his arms and legs were pinioned to the ground. He could hear murmuring all around him as the tiny warriors appear, armed with arrows like needles.

Some forty men appeared on his chest but scurried off when Gulliver roared loudly. Gulliver turned his head one side and saw an army of tiny men and he learned that he had landed in Lilliput, the Country of Little Men.

Gulliver continue to lie quiet as was pegged to the ground by the Lilliputians, when a Lilliputian makes a speech and his gesture was gathered as harmless by the tiny men who were ready to make friends.

The tiny Lilliputians happily hauled mutton no bigger than a lark's wing, loaves of bread, and barrels of wine for Gulliver. When Gulliver was fast asleep, 900 men and 1500 horses moved him to a temple. There, he was provided with 6 bullocks, 40 sheep, bread daily and was prepared by 600 cooks and waiters together.

The Emperor of Lilliputians ordered 300 tailors to make Gulliver a new suit. Many Lilliputians from near and far came to see Gulliver and one day his Highness and his Empress paid him a state visit. After the visit, the Emperor of Lilliputians appointed 6 tutors to teach Gulliver the Lilliputian's language.

Gulliver's gentleness and kindness impressed the Lilliputians, an the army of  3,000 men and 1,000 horses marched under him when the Emperor asked him to stand with his legs as far apart as he could manage. Gulliver always take great care not to tread on cattle, horses, carriages ... and the Lilliputians.

As Gulliver became close to the Lilliputians, he learned that the neighbouring state of Blefuscu was threatening an invasion. A great army was assembled to invade and conquer Lilliput. Gulliver managed to suppress the Blefuscuians, and became a national hero of Lilliput. Gulliver returned to England on April 13,
1702.
