Mother's Day

Children set apart a day every year in honour of motherhood. Anna Jarvis was the person who originated the idea of the Mother's Day. She dedicated to a day to all mothers as a beautiful gesture to appreciate them.

On May 10, 1913, a resolution passed the Senate and the House of Representative to make the second Sunday in May a day to honour mothers.

Every Mother Counts invites mothers to disappear on Mother's Day to help raise awareness about the hundreds of thousands of mother who die each year from complication during pregnancy or childbirth. Share this video to be part of the solution.
