Lamps And Lanterns Contrast the Darkness - SKE Wesak 马六甲 Melaka
Willingness of the devotees to wheel the lamp vessels that emitted light and the gentle hand-carried luminous lanterns that shine the whole path contrasted the darkness of the day. It is Wesak Day. During the mid-autumn festival, these lamps are sometimes shaped as birds, fish, or the 12 almanac of the Chinese calendar.
In the long past, wicks carried the flame which ran in a metal casing which separated the flame from the oil. The intensity of the flame was adjusted by means of a toothed wheel which gripped the wick.
Lighting the path, the noble way of living.
