Malaccanization, a word I coined today with this blog post, is the influence of Malacca on the popular culture, cuisine, heritage since Parameswara discovered her 750 years ago near to the Phyllanthus emblica. Malaccanization is a term coined while drafting this blog post and it inspires what follows. A Famosa, a Portuguese fort dominates the world navigators of ancient times who sailed through the Straits of Melaka. Christ Church, a Dutch architecture, a replica of the “The Last Supper”  dominates landscape of the Melaka River where ancient vessels docking along the steps of the wharfs were guided by the gongs of the Clock Tower. Bukit China, dominates the highest peak of old Melaka, resembling like an ‘egg yolk’ covering 250,000 square meters enclosed by an ‘egg white’ alike of what is now the heritage zone. European colonization is contributing to Malaccanization, Portuguese colonization is contributing to Malaccanization, Dutch conquest is contributing to Malaccanization and the Chinese imperial bridged to Melaka by Zheng He is enriching the Malaccanization.

Malaccanism, also a word, I coined today with this blog post, may refer to:

-Malaccanization.

-A word or phrase typical of an unique heritage language successfully embedded by ancient masters who had travelled to Melaka.

Cultural

Cultural development is a rich resource in Melaka. Singularly, each culture retains its authenticity while transforming to a better hybrid from the influence of former rules. When the Chinese activities peak through the year ? What the Hindu welcomes ? How Malay perseverance day to day fortified the fasting before the Eid-ul-Fitr or before Syawal ? Why the Portuguese remembers the water festival or the Festival of Intrudo ? Will the Peranakan or the Baba and Nyonya keep their intricate arts for a 100 years to come ? Is the Gujarati dressing and dances transforming and fading away ? Fascinate to keep an eye of Sikhism universal brotherhood growing annual pilgrimage ? Chetti of the fifteenth century is fading like the Last of the Mohicans ? The mixed of Malaccan and European as Eurasian is getting rare ?
