1 Cor 13: 4-6
Love is patience and kind;
does not envy or boast;
it is not arrogant or rude.
It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth.
As we are aware, love's standard is very high, and often we fail to practice it. But praise be to God. He is a faithful, gracious and merciful God. We have the example of Peter - although Peter denied Jesus three times, Jesus graciously restored him and entrusted to Peter the important task of leading the nascent church.
