Not a naughty boy, nor a clever one

On the eve of Aidilfitri, Daniel walk from his home eastward to the Spices Garden and westwards from there to the Dutch Square.

This blog post is a result of his inspiration as Daniel sat alone in an old Quayside kopitiam to take a break of his morning walk.

According to Daniel, he got his stamina to walk more steps from his friends who are planning to hike the Broga Hill. For the simple reason of his girlfriends who proposed the hike, he clocked about 11,000 steps.

The old method of brewing coffee in this kopitiam make Daniel reminiscence how the Dutch Square was like some 50 years ago.

It goes like this .....
"Daniel ! ... please cracked twenty eggs and seperate the egg white from the yolk" , said Madam Soon, the aunty to a former member of the Senate, Datuk Wira Soon Tian Szu.

"Okay mum, we have kaya" , Daniel happily helped her. The fine art of making kaya at home is no longer a topic on the streets of Melaka now. Daniel's children now instead enjoy an old recipe of French delicious cranberries and bluberries as bread spread.

Daniel taste the similarity of the kaya spread in the toast with the fabulous coffee he feel in must share with a few accountants.

Daniel recalled how his mum reminded him to combed his hair to a shape of a currypuff. His starched school shirt framed him handsomely in Bandar Hilir English Primary School. Mahmood drived Daniel to school when the birds chirped on first light and on the journey, he was tip-top careful so that the pointed-ends of his rattan-bag do not pierced the velvet seat.

Chan Koon Cheng is a name he see on the road-end and only by seeing it, he know school is getting close. He was not naughty and not clever as most things for him was prescribed with conservative parenting heritage. There was no Waze. With technology, Daniel has become cleverer when he hooked on to Waze to the Tarc4 Klang Retreat last month.

Daniel is thankful to everyone as he learn a thing or two from them. He like to express a Seasonal Greeting herein.

Berkain cindai cantik sekali,
Pohon kemaafan di Aidilfitri,
Moga Ukhwah kekal abadi.
