The Cathedral was completely rebuilt in 1937.
Fine stained-glass windows beautify the inside of the solid towers with massive doors.
The first stone Cathedral, consecrated in 1850, was almost destroyed by a typhoon 24 years alter and had to be repaired.
The present building stands on the site of several previous cathedrals.
