Old habits, Malacca High School Class 77 repeat ..

Industrious Tan left Lim when they were 17 to take up an offer in Singapore. Tan never forgot Lim. Lim travelled to Australia to further his education and in the course of it, became the students leader. Lim tried to keep in touch with Tan but in vain. Tan was fully occupied in his studies. The time zone and the cost of calling made things difficult. Now Tan reside in U.S. while Lim zoom around Penang.

After 17, simple Ashraf no longer bersilat with the humble Syed as they did in school, but they continue to keep in touch and take concern of their childhood friends. Similarly, Gerald and Thomas went separate ways too after the examination, but now they are meeting up down south.

Siva keep his low profile style through the years in school with not just his Hindus friends but also to the Malay and the Chinese friends.

“Listen, I brought you here …” he lightly pressed his finger to my lips. I hushed. He reached his pocket and held up a silver chain for her as a momento of their friendship during the level six. They abandoned each other the next four years after the Higher School Certificate examination or HSC to pursue their interests and they hardly see each other. Both graduated and began working. Soon they found each other again, and they’ve got married with kids.

They called themselves the Class of 77. They inherited the meliora hic sequamor. The tip of the colours of life in the 1973, 1977 or 1979, their alma mater, Malacca High School, taught them well. Leaving out the great learning in classes, all of them have understood why not to leave a single stone unturned in the field. There is a master to this out-of-class learning, a master adore by thousands of his pupils right up to this moment in time. You know who is the master, he know also, she know too and I just met him in person last month.

Surpasses new encounters, they love to repeat old habits. This time they are repeating their old habits again at Casa del Rio.
See you. Cheers.
Pak & Tan.
