Democracy

A government of consent. And there is democracy. When the voters cast their ballots in polls, they are giving consent to the ruling party. The people vote for some persons to represent them in the house. And the elected person is responsible to his consituency and if his perfomance is below par, he could be ousted by a new candidate. Because it is impossible to gather millions of people at the same place and time, to make a decision, they vote.

Aristotle described democracy as a form of government where the majority rule the country and the Greek words demos meaning the people and kratein meaning to rule form the word, Democracy.

Switzerland established democracy for nearly four hundred years while United States became the largest nation in which democracy worked. For democracy to work effective, the people have to make it work by making wise choices.
