Malay opera with music and dance. The adventure of Hang Tuah of Melaka is a
popular Bangsawan theme.
The Bangsawan arts began in Penang in the 1880s though it
originated in India.
The Sungai Wang Plaza in Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur is the
exact location where the Bangsawan opera was first staged.
Perfectly located on the foot of the Hang Tuah Bridge that
leap onto the Hang Tuah Mall, the Panggung Bangsawan is taking shape on the
former Cathay Cinema along the Melaka River.
