Born on the 11 March 1922 at Pulau Keladi, Pahang, his mother is Hajjah Teh binti Daud.
Although he is the son of a pembesar of Pahang, he was brought up by his grandfather at Jambu Village, Langgar, Pekan, Pahang Darul Makmur. Excellent discipline and conduct is the core values in that village.
Many village folks were farmers and they lived kais pagi makan pagi, kais petang makan petang. His good preseverence enabled him to learn great wisdom from the exposure to the under-privileged villagers or in the Malay language, serba kekurangan.
