Sacred is coming to town …

Laurel is a girl who doesn’t believe in anything supernatural. She took a tiger claw who belong to someone else and soon she died …

Within the four narrow roads that surrounds a square plot of land, cluster of colonial houses which stood like dominos along one side and the first shop house is hidden from the last. When the young girls of yesteryears would sneak a peek from one of the two upstair windows, the only chance to see who is standing at the window of another house is one 200˚ to hers. The road that is shaped by the domino effect of these houses which bend gradually towards the left and complete its mileage in front of a legendary well. The well has keep its lustering work of an admiral for almost 600 years.

Laurel who lived within the the square plot, desirably persuaded the owner to give the tiger claw to her. Phoebe was ignorance of the consequences when she gave it to Laurel who asked insistently. The Sacred had gave one each to Phoebe, Annie and Carol. The Sacred told the three girls that those claws are meant for them only.

Sometime before the the Korean War which lasted from 1950 to 1953, the Sacred appeared at one of the domino-houses and sprinkled fragant water along the edges of the floor. He sprinkled the same water on the clothings of the people living in that house. Carol who did not attend school was made to wash clothings and she told her son when he grew up, “The fragant would stay with the clothing for at least after three washings.” She was trying to tell her son how lasting the fragant was. Maybe the fragant was a sign of the mystical power of that man. Carol recalled that the Sacred likes to visit her house and non other. Many people had invited him to their homes but he did not promise them and of course he did not turn up in their houses at all.
