This is a new multi-purpose hall for Yok Bin Secondary School, in Melaka. The hall is named Tan Sri Tan Cheng Swee Multi-Purpose Hall.
Tan Sri Tan Cheng Swee was a veteran politician from the National Front's Malaysian Chinese Assembly. He has held the post of Deputy President of the Malaysian Chinese Assembly and has acted as the Deputy Chief Minister of Melaka in 1976.
Tan Sri Tan Cheng Swee obtained his primary education in the Bandar Hilir English School and his secondary education in the Malacca High School.
Dr. Wee Ka Siong, the Minister in the Prime Minister's Department will officiate the opening of the multi-purpose hall tonight at the school.
