Fontignac 7.0L High Casserole with lid

My wife has got this item last night. She is very happy.

Though she has one double the size of this casserole, she like this 7.0L because she can use it for cooking 1 whole kampong chicken of the 10-Herbals Cuisine which is non-commercialized yet.

She studied the Use and Care Instructions manual and asked me to write this post on blogger so that others can easily refer the Fontignac casserole on the net.

It goes like this:

  1. Before using this product for the first time, wash, rinse and dry carefully.
  2. The cookware is dishwasher-safe. To prevent any marks left by limescale in the water, always wipe dry after washing. Spots and marks may be removed with a little vinegar diluted in lukewarm water.
  3. To prevent salt stains, do not add salt until water is boiling.
  4. Do not use steel wool or anything that may scratch the surface.
  5. The base is slightly concave when cold, but expands to flatten out when heated. Always leave the product to cool before cleaning it. This allows the base to resume its shape and helps to prevent it from becoming uneven with use.
  6. This cookware is suitable for use on all types of hobs and in the oven. With glass lid can withstand temperature of up to 180C and without glass lid can withstand temperature of up to 240C.
  7. It is designed exclusively for cooking, not for storing food. Food that is stored in the cookware for a longer period may affect the surface of the cookware and take on the taste of metal.
  8. Use the pan on a hob with the same or a smaller diameter as the pan to save energy.
  9. Bear in mind that the handles and knobs get hot when the cookware is in use. Always use oven gloves when moving the product of lifting the lid.
  10. Never let the cookware boil dry, because the base becomes skew when overheated.

Happy cooking.
