Chans in top tennis for two decades

Sometime in June, 1952 the Chans had been very successful in the Melaka Tennis Tournament.
Members of the Chans family had already figured as the top-flight tennis players for two decades in the Settlement.


Chan Ah Him, a teacher with the Anglo-Chinese School and his nephew, a 19 year old Chan Ying Tat won the men's doubles beating the seeded pair, Ben Gomes and Wong Tee Chin.

Ying Tat was then in 1952, a student-teacher in Tranquerah English School.

A former Principal of Malacca High School, the Batch of students who studied in Form 1 in 1973 right up to Form 5 in 1977 is inviting Ying Tat for reunion this coming May.

Teachers who are tagging along includes Alice Chia, Teo Boon Khoo, Kumaradas, Cikgu Kader, Wee Ming Yong, Mahinder Singh ...
