Autumn's Concerto's most important setting is in IIan. Scenes where the male lead, Ren Guang-hsi and female lead, Liang Mu-tseng shared an umbrella were filmed in Tiensungpi Station in Sanxing Township in IIan County. The "Huatien Village" that the femaile lead took shelter in is located near the Wonglongpi Lake of Yuanshan Township in IIan County.

Tiensungpi Station was the transit station for workers and materials going through to Taiping Mountain in earlier years. In the 1970s, loggin was nearing its end, bringing about the eventual obsolescene of Tiensungpi station. Today, the station is no longer in use. Although only the exterior remains, it has retained its ticketing booths, the station master's office, old railways wheels, and other remnants of days gone by.

The show's leading actors cross paths multiples times. In one scene, the couple goes on a business trip. As they walk to Sheng-te University, the male actor says to the female actress, "Don't be afraid, I'm here." In reality, the university is Yuanchi University in Zhongli, Taoyuan.

In the movie, the main characters are duped and spend a night together in Sheng-te Hall, which is shot in Taichung's Broadcasting Bureau. This is where the couple's love begins to blossom. The scene where the handsome actor taught the lovely actress to skate was shot in the ice skating ring in Taipei area.
