Chinese Opera In Melaka



Chinese opera (Chinese: 戏曲/戲曲; Pinyin: xìqǔ) is a popular form of drama and musical theatre in China with roots going back as far as the third century CE. The Chinese Opera stage is usually a temporary stage that is constructed a few days before the use during the deity birthday prayers. The stage is presently being set up using rectangular and square hollow of different sizes, walled and roofed by thick canvases. In the past, the stage was built with solid wood beams and wood pillars. Those were the days where the stage walls and roof uses dried attap leaves.
